Environment when installing from .deb

Hi

I installed GNU Dap from the .deb file and it installed itself in /usr/bin
Unfortunately, the dap program is looking for dapp and dapruns in /usr/local/bin/
Wouldn't it be better for dap to look for them in it's own location?
