In short, freezing is more about trying to bring a drive that's
non-responsive at all back to life, not about recovering more bad
sectors. It will usually assist with electronic issues and some
mechanical bearing/movements issues.
I recommend it only as the very final step in any recovery process,
assuming you're not planning on sending it to a recovery service,
because invariably the platters will get moisture/dew/condensation on
them, even with the bag packed with silica gel.
