[bug-diffutils] [PATCH] maint: avoid new "make sytnax-check" failure.

"make syntax-check" was failing like this:

    find_dir_file_pathname
    the above functions should have static scope
    make[1]: *** [_gl_tight_scope] Error 1

If fixed it with this:
