While the - option is not Posix, it is *extremely* ingrained in ed
users' consciousness, and probably in innumerable scripts besides
patch. The standard meaning of - is stdin, but editing stdin makes no
sense (in the ed model of editing), so no actual confusion should result.
I urge you to reconsider this decision and leave the - option alone.
