Details:

The last stable version of find 4.4.2 was released
Sat May 16 17:01:50 2009 +0100

That makes the current stable release more than 6 years old.

Now, I know that some distributions have ignored the findutils communities
warning of labeling the 4.5 series as unstable *(opensuse, fedora, centos);
but at least debian, ubuntu, and arch have so far decided to respect the find
maintainers definitions of 4.5 as alpha.

So if 4.5 is really production ready, can you please release a new blessed
-stable version. Releasing a new -stable would be very timely as it might
even be able to be picked up in the next Ubuntu LTS release which is currently
in development.

This would resolve a number of outstanding ubuntu bugs that have fixes in 4.5,
but whose fixes do not satisfy the requirements for a stable fix
*(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/findutils/+bug/1347788).

Now if it's not ready, by all means keep it -alpha.

Thank you,
Dave.
