Hello.

Please tell me what version of gawk you are using. If you're not
using the latest released version, which is 4.1.1, can you please
try compiling and installing that and rerunning your test?

If you are using the latest version, then I would like to make arrangements
to get a copy of your data file to see if I can reproduce the problem.

You can tell what the version is by issuing

        awk --version
