--libdir=/usr2/lib \
--includedir=/usr2/include \
--mandir=/usr2/man 

Could I recommend downloading a GDB snapshot from:
        http://sources.redhat.com/gdb/download/
The snapshots are being drawn from the (unreleased) 5.1 branch.
