[bug-gettext] gettext, packaging and embedded systems

hello guys,

first a big thank you to Daiki Ueno as the new maintainer. I am please
to see the activity on this list has increased recently as stuff gets
done and fixes/improvements are made.

Now to the issue I have with gettext when used on embedded systems. I
have previously posted on this subject, see

Basically the issue is that gettext could be packaged better so that
it takes up less space. The build and install does an install of all
the tools. There is no install option that just installs that which is
needed for gettext at runtime. This is no concern to the average user
but it is important on embedded systems where the size taken up by the
tools is important. Is there any chance this is going to be looked at
please?
