Well, I don't think those patches work well...  We've recently migrated
all the tests to use test-framework-sh module from Gnulib, which runs
each test in a separate subdirectory under $builddir:

So we cannot simply use $(abs_srcdir) instead of ../$srcdir, etc.

Could you provide actual errors you got with absolute path?
