gs prints garbage despite of giving "-q" or "-dQUIET" option

Hi!

How can I stop gs to print garbage to stdout?
I use stdout as OutPutFile. So I want only the output there, not any
error messages. But on some documents, when there are problems, error
messages are sent to stdout which waste paper or corrupt the following
printing.
Is it possible to send the ghostscript error output to stderr instead?
Thus I could use the output in a pipe and forward the errors to a file
or just to /dev/null.

Greetings, Michael
