We're learning more about what submission really looks like today. In a 
nutshell, a wife is to be submissive to her husband in all things, unless he 
asks her to sin. Examples of how her husband might ask a wife to sin include:


1) Forbidding her to go to church, in which case she must disobey him, making 
sure that his resentment is not because she has such a good time with her 
Christian friends.


2) Forbidding her to talk to the children about God. She must disobey him here, 
also, but she can ensure that her teaching them about the Lord does not 
interfere with his schedule or offend him in any way.


3) Asking her to participate in pornography or other sexual immorality. She 
must refuse, and in this case, if her husband is a Christian, she must take 
steps to biblically reprove her husband according to Matthew 18:15-17 and help 
restore him to fellowship with God.


4) Forbidding her to reprove him. This is the fallacy that many Christian wives 
labor under. A Christian husband might consider a wife’s reproof as lack 
of respect and submission to him. So both husbands and wives must learn what a 
biblical reproof looks like--to give and to receive.
