4 That so no herb of the devilmay be found in you: but ye mayremain in all holiness and sobrietyboth of body and spirit, in ChristJesus. 8 Let no man have any grudgeagainst his neighbour. My soulbe your expiation, not only now,but when I shall have attainedunto God; for I am yet underdanger. 14 A christian is not a work ofopinion; but of greatness of mind, especially when he is hated by theworld. 9 I beseech those that are inhigh estate among you, (if so beyou will take the counsel whichwith a good intention I offer toyou,) you have those with youtowards whom you may do good;do not forsake them. For it is the way of eternal death, with punishment; in which theythat walk meet those things thatdestroy their own souls. 9 If therefore God shall haveyet farther taken notice of this,by Abraham too; our understandingof it will then be perfectlyestablished. Whatever events shallhappen unto thee, thou shaltreceive them as good. 12 Hearken unto the bishop, that God also may hearken untoyou. 9 Knowing therefore that Godis not mocked, we ought to walkworthy both of his command andof his glory. And the land ofJacob was the praise of all theearth; magnifying thereby thevessel of his spirit. 8 It is therefore fitting that youshould by all means glorify JesusChrist, who hath glorified youthat by a uniform obedience yemay be perfectly joined togetherin the same mind, and in the samejudgment; and may all speak thesame things concerning everything:9 And that being, subject toyour bishop, and the presbytery,ye may be wholly and thoroughlysanctified. Suffer me to enter into purelight, where being come, I shallbe indeed the servant of God. 15 For these are not the plantsof the Father; seeing if they were, they would appear to be thebranches of the cross, and theirfruit would be incorruptible; bywhich he invites you through hispassion, who are members of him. 24 This is that spiritual templethat is built unto the Lord. Ignatius testifies his desire to see, and his hopes of suffering for Christ 5 which he earnestly entreats them not to prevent, 10 but to pray for him, that God would strengthen him to the combat. And when I said,It is written; they answeredfrom what lay before them in thecorrupted copies. Thou shalt abhor alldissimulation. Desires their prayers, and to beunited, but not to Judaize. 15 Nevertheless by the will ofGod I have been thought worthyof this honour; not for that Ithink I have deserved it, but bythe grace of God;16 Which I wish may be perfectlygiven unto me, that through yourprayers I may attain unto God. From whence being sentbound with chains becoming God. 2 For should I speak farther ofthe things that now are, and ofthose that are to come, you wouldnot yet understand them, seeingthey lie in parables. 2 Having known that thy mindtowards God, is fixed as it wereupon an immoveable rock;I exceedingly give thanks, thatI have been thought worthy tobehold thy blessed face, inwhich may I always rejoice in God. 4 Maintain thy place with allcare both of flesh and spirit: Makeit thy endeavour to preserve unity, than which nothing is better.
