Somehow, the patch confused something somewhere and it unfortunately appears
as a binary.  At least the firefox browser I'm sitting at thinks it's a
binary, but the file name extension is .patch.  It's actually a simple ASCII
text file from diff -u. I just checked and it is OK. 

I apologize for a couple of gratuitous format changes in the patch; it
wasn't from some desire to push "MY" style it was simply an over eager emacs
helper, and poor proofreading on my part. :)
