gnats.el and the field change reason

Hi!

I am probably doing something stupidly wrong, but I did not found a
solution yet:

Using Gnats server 4.0 and user tools 4.0 over the net.  edit-pr and
gnatsweb are working fine.  The problem is with gnats.el: Everytime I
change a field which requires a reason, I get a timeout:

  212 Ok.

  analyzed

  .

  213 Ok, now send the field change reason.

  LOCK 221 emacs


Emacs then shows the timeout:

  gnats-mark-field-edited: Text is read-only [2 times]
  Mark set
  gnats-get-response: Input timeout from the server

The cause seems to be that gnats-add-changed-why is not called or does
at least not query the reason.

This happens with Emacs 21 from a stock Woody and gnats 4.0 build
myself for Woody.  Editing in general works but is not very helpful if
the state can't be changed within Emacs.

Any hints where to look?
