I have the following results from the platforms I have tried to build on so far:

Solaris 8, 9 (SPARC):

** Sun WS 8 cc: "identifier redeclared: getsubopt" when compiling fconfigl.c
** gcc 2.95.2: "../include/libiberty.h:80: warning: function declaration isn't a prototype " when compiling edit.c ** gcc 3.3.2: "../include/libiberty.h:80: warning: function declaration isn't a prototype " when compiling edit.c

Solaris 10 (SPARC):

** SUN WS 8 cc: "Compiler or options invalid for pre-UNIX 03 X/Open applications and pre-2001 POSIX applications" ** gcc 3.3.2: Obscure include file parse error probably caused by gcc 3.3.2 not running well on Solaris 10 yet. This particular compiler/platform can be disregarded for now.

Redhat Advanced Server 3.0 u3:

** gcc 3.2.3: A few warnings, but the build goes through.

Specific details are in separate messages that I have already sent to bug-gnats. Mysteriously, some of these haven't gotten through yet, but that will hopefully happen in the next hour or two.

I will also try to build on Solaris x86 9 and 10, and I will post results if they differ significantly from what happens on SPARC (they shouldn't, though).
