So long as freedom of information is preserved. That
is to say, so long as all the information on GNE is
freely available, and people are never charges for any
of it. GNE should remain "freeware" rather than
"shareware" or anything else. We cna get money through
other frontends, services offered, etc if we really
want, but the core of the project, the searchable
resource, must remain totally free to access.
