Thank you for contacting the Site Review Team at 8e6 Technologies! We
appreciate your site review request and we will do our best to provide
you with prompt action.

This email provides answers to the most common questions regarding
access to sites on the Internet while using an 8e6 Technologies
filtering and reporting product.

If after reading this email, your question is not answered, or if you
feel your organization or ISP needs support for your 8e6 product beyond
this site review request, please contact the 8e6 Customer Support Team
at mailto:address@hidden or 888-786-7999.

* Why is this site "blocked"? There's nothing bad on this site!

A common misconception is that 8e6 Technologies "blocks access" to
Internet sites. In reality, 8e6 Technologies "categorizes" certain
types of Internet sites, then allows its client organizations and ISPs
the choice of which categories to "allow" for its users. Many times it
may appear that 8e6 is "blocking" access to a site, when in reality,
your organization or ISP may have chosen to restrict access to a
particular category. Many 8e6 products can be customized to allow
access to the sites you need-for just a single user or for everyone!
Check with your organization's filtering administrator or ISP for more
details.

* Why is this site incorrectly categorized?

8e6 Technologies strives to keep accurate site categorizations. Since
everyone has differing Internet access standards, occasionally you may
find a site you feel should be blocked, but isn't. If you have emailed
us with a link to a site you feel should be blocked, our Site Review
Team will process the request within one business day. If the site is
found to meet the definition for addition to one of our categories as
found at http://www.8e6technologies.com/statistics/8e6categories.html,
then the site will be categorized and included in the daily update
within three business days-and very often the next day.

Because everyone has differing standards, many 8e6 products can be
customized to block sites that may not fit our predefined categories.
Check with your organization's filtering administrator or ISP for more
details.

There is no need for you to contact us again regarding the same site.

* My Internet Service Provider does not filter my Internet access.
Why am I being "blocked"?

Many ISPs offer both unrestricted and filtered access. It is possible
that your ISP has provided you with a filtered account. Please contact
your ISP to verify that you have the type of account requested.

* Who is my organization's or ISP's filtering administrator?

All organizations have a designated person to support its Internet
users. In most ISPs, the toll-free customer service should be able to
provide you information about the filtering service.

In schools and businesses, a network administrator is the likely person
who has been assigned to support questions related to Internet
filtering.

Thank you,
