lock files problem

Hello,

I'm using gnu emacs 20.4-4 on a linux system (kernel 2.2.12-20).

The problem is that if I choose not to save modified buffers that were 
visiting some files (choices "NO" or "Quit" after "C-x C-c") then emacs wont 
delete the lock files of those buffers on exiting (unless I have killed the 
buffers explicitly before exiting).

I don't think this is the correct behaviour, because it leaves lock files 
that are no more needed in the directories.
