i'm running x11 as well, and w/ the way my window manager is
configured (pretty much default), there is no such button -- i
mentioned this because that lack makes it difficult for me to
investigate ;-)

i agree that it would be nice for Emacs to verify the action, but if i
understand correctly, depending on what the button is set up to do, it
may not be possible.  i wouldn't mind at all to be proven wrong on
this.
