ispell bug in tex parser

When I am using ispell-buffer, with a LaTeX buffer that contains text
like:

e.g.\ depletion

so that the spacing after the second '.' will be right, ispell finds
'epletion' and says it doesn't recognize it. This looks like a bug in
the ispell tex parser.

The value of ispell-parser is tex.

Thanks,
John Hunter

Version info:
