I'm thinking why in the buffer list, not abbreviate
MR Buffer Size Mode File

. % mountain_angles 519 Dired by name /home/jidanni/mapping/mountain_angles/
as
. % mountain_angles 519 Dired by name ~/mapping/mountain_angles/
Make this an new option's default.
