tar-mode bug |

Hi,
the two attached tar files are correct tar files (can be untared with "tar")
but only foo-ok.tar can be loaded in tar mode.
This seems to be related to the sub-directory name length but I can't find
where.
In foo-ok.tar, the directory name length is one character shorter than in
foo-bug.tar.
This happens with emacs-20.7 on win32 and solaris-sparc platforms.
Can you have a look and tell me how I can fix this ?
Many thanks in advance.
Regards,
Michel Delval.
