This is a known problem: the Windows clipboard stores text as 
null-terminate (a.k.a. ASCIIZ) string, so you cannot have any characters 
after the first null character in the clipboard.

However, IIRC, the Windows port stopped copying text into the clipboard 
if the text is yanked in the same session (the DOS port was doing that on 
Windows since long ago).  Perhaps this is only in Emacs 21, though.
