iso-accents bug

Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug:

To reproduce the bug open a temp buffer and evaluate this:
(iso-accents-mode t)
(iso-accents-customize "portuguese")
then press ' n times... also try pressing " n times and those two with
diferent characters after it...

Wrong type argument: symbolp, 39

appears in the echo area, and the latest number changes according with
the last key pressed after ' or ".
