Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug:

The command M-x authors does not work as advertised in the manual.
You need to manually load the file authors.el.  I assume this is
primarily a tool for emacs hackers so suspect this is intentional, but
the manual does not mention it, and general users may be curious.
