OK, I'd say that that [method, etc.] should be documented in the
documentation, instead of just hiding out in the code... as it would
seem a reasonable common activity.
I think there is a misunderstanding here. I did not find any special
method. I simply ran emacsclient the usual way, from the shell under
su. It worked.
