I post here cause I encounter the same problem after the following
steps, I don't know if others have encountered the same problem.
1. enter footnote mode (M-x footnote-mode)
2. add some footnotes (C-c ! a), say, 5 footnotes
3. delete footnote 2 (C-c ! d, y)
4. When using goto footnote (C-c ! g), it complains "I don't see a
footnote here"
