This bug report will be sent to the Free Software Foundation,
not to your local site managers!
Please write in English, because the Emacs maintainers do not have
translators to read other languages for them.

Your bug report will be posted to the bug-gnu-emacs@gnu.org mailing list,
and to the gnu.emacs.bug news group.

Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug:

I have found that if I've been editing a file for a while, for some reason
at
some point the rectangle functions stop working. I can't figure out any
pattern, and I didn't think of generating this bug report at the time. It's
happened quite a few times since I moved to emacs 21.1 (on NT 4.0). Has
anyone
else seen any problems with using rectangles? One typical use I have found
is
for deleting a column of data from a table, but the table isn't really in a
formal table (as defined in tables.el).

I use the rect-mark package from Rick Sladkey, in case that makes any
difference. I can include my .emacs if needed.
