I am editing a file with lines oh, 300 characters long, thus wrapped
several times on the screen. I must maintain this format, but I want
to use the familiar ^P ^N and up and down arrows keys to navigate
around the screen in a what you see is what you get fashion,
pretending that the lines aren't wrapped, e.g. ^P will take me to the
character directly above on the screen, even though I might only be
moving 80 chars leftwards on the same line in reality. I wonder if
emacs has a mode to allow us to fool ourselves thusly, if we wish.
