I cut an pasted some text from an ibuffer [2.6, Walters' package] into an
email i was about to send, and now my email seems to have some of
ibuffer's keys in effect. Next time i won't ever cut and paste
directly from some buffer with those fancy keymaps, but insted pipe
the region I want thru cat, and use the output of that.

This seems to happen a lot: I am in one emacs buffer, I use M-w on a
region and then yank it into another buffer. It seems not only does
one get the text, but also some of the keybindings. Also they seem
not just to be in effect in the region yanked, but throughout the rest
of the buffer...

There I am and I'm typing along in a news message I'm about to send. I
type "doremi" but just as I type the "e", the screen blows up. I do
C-h l to see what the heck I typed. Huh, nothing special, just an
"e". I do C-h k e and it says e runs the command ibuffer-visit-buffer.

Huh? I then do C-h b to see all the bindings, but find no ibuffer-
anything.

I cut and pasted a chunk of dired buffer into various buffers, but
it seems that doesn't mess up any keybindings.

Anyway, this is sort of like what happens when you cut and pate parts
an Info page into a *news* buffer. Some things act funny when you are
near any if the "hidden" portions, and you are warned about hidden
made unhidden when you post.

Indeed, I think ibuffer also uses the hidden-text principle, so this
might be a prime suspect here.
