This bug report will be sent to the Free Software Foundation,
not to your local site managers!
Please write in English, because the Emacs maintainers do not have
translators to read other languages for them.

Your bug report will be posted to the bug-gnu-emacs@gnu.org mailing list,
and to the gnu.emacs.bug news group.

Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug:

Actions:
Using Zip-Archive Mode to browse a zip file (e.g. junit3.7.zip may download
from www.junit.org)

(There is another problem related to the filename of the zip archive
itself:
        Actions:
        Open file e.g: junit3.7.zip
        Extract: e.g. faq.htm

If you use the original archive name e.g. junit3.7.zip extraction
does not work at all.
Every extraction command results in the message:

        Symptoms:
        Message:
        "`pkunzip' exited with status 9"

If you change the name of the archive to junit3_7.zip at least some
extractions work!)

and extract a file (e.g. JUnitProperties.html from the archive)

Symptoms:
Zip-Archive Mode (with pkunzip 2.04g as zip tool)
uses old 8.3 format to write temp files but uses correct filename to read
the temp file
what causes an error.
The file that is actually written is (compare to recent messages):
C:\Documents and Settings\d028486\Local
Settings\Temp\archive.tmp2724if5\JUNITPRO.HTM

Georg Lenz
