Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug:

This is basically just a bug with documentation; the info node named
"Term mode" has the key sequences for switching to line/char mode
back-to-front.  That is, the real behaviour is that C-c C-k switches
to char mode, and C-c C-j switches to line mode.
