Example:

In Finland, where Linus Torvalds made Linux-kernel, there is
three major computer magazines, all of them highly focused on
MS-Windows. Once or twice in a year they usually print large
article about GNU/Linux. 

Those articles always have the same basic idea: "Linux was
made by Linus Torvalds from Finland with the help of thousands
people from the Internet". I have _never_ seen anything about
GNU Project or Free Software Foundation in those articles.

They give the general idea that Linus Torvalds made everything 
with help from the Internet... If correct name was used, 
GNU/Linux, it would help to solve these kind of confusions.
