CC Mode 5.28 (C); c-electric-brace reindents line even if c-syntactic-indentation is nil

Hi!

My problem is the following:

- I am editing a C file in cc-mode
- I set c-syntactic-indentation to nil --- if I understand correctly
  this should also turn off all indentation connected to the
  electric keys
- when I write a closing brace to close a block, the brace is indented
  to align with the previous line
