You are right, the scrollbar should by default be placed on the right when 
emacs is
compiled with motif/lesstif support, because it is where it is usually placed 
with
motif apps.

Furthermore, I have noticed that
Emacs.*.scrollBarPlacement: BOTTOM_RIGHT
in ~/.Xdefaults has no effect and can't be used to correct this problem.

Is anybody working on that ?
