This bug report will be sent to the Free Software Foundation,
not to your local site managers!
Please write in English, because the Emacs maintainers do not have
translators to read other languages for them.

Your bug report will be posted to the bug-gnu-emacs@gnu.org mailing list,
and to the gnu.emacs.bug news group.

Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug:

When I press the "compose" key on my SUN keyboard, emacs 21.3 beeps.
C-h k returns: <space> is undefined, i.e. emacs thinks this key is
defined as <space>.

xmodmap/xkeycaps tell me about this key:
KeyCode: Compose 0x4A 74 0112
KeySym: Multi_key

This key works fine in emacs 21.2, i.e. emacs allows me to use the key
to enter 2-key combinations like e.g. "a" followed by an apostrophe.

Recent input:
C-h k <space> <help-echo> <help-echo> <menu-bar> <help-menu>
