I had to send this via my mail account on Yahoo since my Emacs installation
is so new that I have not yet configured it to send mail properly.

--text follows this line--
This bug report will be sent to the Free Software Foundation,
not to your local site managers!!
Please write in English, because the Emacs maintainers do not have
translators to read other languages for them.

In GNU Emacs 20.7.1 (i386-*-nt5.1.2600)
of Tue Jun 13 2000 on buffy
configured using `configure NT'

Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug:

When I try to open a file using Ange-FTP that is greater than 4K
I get an empty buffer. There is no error message, just nothing
displayed in the buffer.

If I type into that buffer and save, then the file is trucated
to whatever was typed. It seems to have no clue that there was
a 4K file there before and just stomps it.

If I shorten the original 4K file by a few bytes and retry (using vi,
yuck), then it shows and edits as expected.

Note that I researched the problem by incrementally increasing the
file size until I hit the problem (which occurred at 4K).

My Emacs installation on this XP machine XP is brand new - I have no
customizations. I installed 20.0.7 because that was the latest version
that I could find binaries for. The remote server is a Linux box. I've
included the output from the ange-ftp buffer below.
