Hi!
GNU Emacs 21.2.1 (i686-pc-cygwin, X toolkit) of 2003-01-23 on DRACO.
It seems as though alphanumeric filenames starting with numbers cannot
be read by emacs for editing using trying to edit remote files using the
dired mode via ange-ftp.
The result is a blank page and the following message on the mode line:
File exists, but cannot be read.
I tried to edit such a file on the local system via dired but *NO* ange-ftp
and it works fine.
