Error in rmail with multiple in-boxes

Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug:

If the value of rmail-primary-inbox-list is a list of more than one
location, and there is mail waiting at at least two of them then the
second collection of mail is not added to the end on RMAIL but between
the ^_ and the ^L

So instead of a nice ^_^L to separate mail we get
^_^_^L in one place and the system breaks down


As far as i can tell this always happens, but in my world it is rare
for mail to be in more than one place.

I think the error lies in rmail-get-new-mail but I have not managed to
understand it yet.  This report is just in case someone else has it
fixed.  Seems to "work" like this on a number of my machines.

Could be that a (goto-char (point-max))) is needed at the end of the
body of the while loop?
