too long for one line Local Variables in Files

The info node "Local Variables in Files" should mention how to use
more than one line to set the same variable.
E.g., how to say
 <!-- Local Variables: -->
 <!-- compile-command: "f=central.html; grep ^[0-9] $f|sort -nc && perl  -F,
-alnwe 'next unless/^\\d/; print if ($F[0]/.0125)=~/\\D/' $f" -->
 <!-- End: -->
but not use lines more than 80 characters long.

I tired lots of methods, all getting "Local variables entry is missing
the suffix".
emacs-version "22.0.50.1"
