incorrect byte-compiler warning for condition-case handler value

Subject: incorrect byte-compiler warning for condition-case handler value

I have a condition-case such as this:

(condition-case toto
    (titi)
  (error (error-message-string foo)))

My understanding is that in case of error, the error message string
will be returned, which is what I want.

However, the byte compiler flags this:

foo.el:4039:27:Warning: value returned from (error-message-string foo) is
unused

I don't think that warning text is correct. IIUC, the value is used
(returned from the condition-case) if an error occurs. Unless I'm
misunderstanding, this would be like warning that in (if foo bar) the
result of evaluating bar is unused.

In GNU Emacs 22.1.1 (i386-mingw-nt5.1.2600)
 of 2007-06-02 on RELEASE
Windowing system distributor `Microsoft Corp.', version 5.1.2600
configured using `configure --with-gcc (3.4) --cflags -Ic:/gnuwin32/include'
