bug#811: 23.0.60; emacsclient -t inserts one char when pressing an arrow

From: Tassilo Horn
Subject: bug#811: 23.0.60; emacsclient -t inserts one char when pressing an arrow key
Date: Thu, 28 Aug 2008 21:06:59 +0200
User-agent: Gnus/5.13 (Gnus v5.13) Emacs/23.0.60 (gnu/linux)

Please write in English if possible, because the Emacs maintainers
usually do not have translators to read other languages for them.

Your bug report will be posted to the emacs-pretest-bug@gnu.org mailing list.

Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug:

1. Start emacs -Q
2. eval (server-start)
3. from a terminal, invoke emacsclient -t some-file
4. Press <left>, <right>, <up> or <down>

The first keypress of an arrow key after the emacsclient invokation
inserts one D, C, A or B. The next press moves point as expected. With
emacsclient -c this does not happen.

If Emacs crashed, and you have the Emacs process in the gdb debugger,
please include the output from the following gdb commands:
    `bt full' and `xbacktrace'.
If you would like to further debug the crash, please read the file
/usr/share/emacs/23.0.60/etc/DEBUG for instructions.

the network driver and he reads and writes TCP/IP himself.
