No.  In one of the previous mails I've already sent output of
`fc-list' for your information.

Starting `emacs -Q -fn monospace-12', (x-select-font) shows

  Andale Mono - Standard - 12

and `C-u C-x =' reports

  xft:-monotype-Andale Mono-normal-normal-normal-*-21-*-*-*-m-0-iso10646-1
