The node says this about the available pointer shapes:

 Use `M-x apropos <RET> x-pointer <RET>' to see a list of them.

But in MS Windows, M-x apropos x-pointer shows only this:

x-pointer-shape
<v>: The shape of the pointer when over text.
  <p>: variable-documentation

Nevertheless, I can see various different pointer shapes in Emacs on
Windows. Isn't there a bug here somewhere (doc, program)?

In GNU Emacs 23.0.60.1 (i386-mingw-nt5.1.2600)
 of 2008-11-24 on LENNART-69DE564
Windowing system distributor `Microsoft Corp.', version 5.1.2600
configured using `configure --with-gcc (3.4) --no-opt --cflags -Ic:/g/include
-fno-crossjumping'
