No, no, you must specify "Rachana" (if it is the font family
name) in place of "FONT_FAMILY_NAME" as this:

(set-fontset-font t 'malayalam '("rachana" . "unicode-bmp"))

I installed rachana font and confirmed that the above code
worked.
