Okay, I'm sorry for this. 
I already knew I can't provide a minimal example, so your rant is justified.

So Mac-specific. I kind of expected that since I use 99% of my setup under 
linux, too, and I didn't see crashes there (but the problem with this statement 
is that I use 99% the Mac and 1% Linux).
