bug#12662: 24.2.50; modes in buffer list

From: Richard Stallman
Subject: bug#12662: 24.2.50; modes in buffer list
Date: Tue, 16 Oct 2012 23:50:05 -0400

My current buffer is an Rmail buffer that is showing the last
message of 45 messages. In the mode line it shows `45/45'
after the major mode.

I type C-x C-b, and in the buffer list, the mode of each buffer is
followed by `45/45'.

When I switch to some other buffer and type C-x C-b, this goes away.
