Ah, I thought you meant an actual crash (as in core dump). Good.
Actually this bug is because of an incompatible change, so newer Emacsen
require a newer version of memory-usage. The current version 0.1 in GNU
ELPA should work, but if you have an older version 0.1 package will not
let you upgrade. This was a bug in older handling of GNU ELPA where
a package could be updated while keeping the same version number.
Tomorrow, GNU ELPA will have a version 0.2 of memory-usage.
