Hello!

There are a few exceptions: Greek Γ, IPA ŋ, the • in Mathematics…

The reason is that all glyphs are taken from nil:-apple- Latin_Modern_Mono-medium-normal-normal-*-10-*-*-*-p-0-iso10646-1 and no other font is tried or used. Switching to a dozen other monospaced fonts (for example Monaco, Andale Mono, Courier, Monospace, Bitstream Vera Mono, Lucida Sans Typewriter from Java) leads to a frame as wide as the scroll-bar. GNU Freefont and Latin Modern from TeX work well.

(This behaviour can also be seen in GNU Emacs 24.2.50, but not in GNU Emacs 24.2. A comparison with GNU Emacs 24.3 can be performed in a few hours. Maybe Mac OS X, when quite old, brakes the CPU…)

In GNU Emacs 24.3.50.1 (powerpc-apple-darwin8.11.0, NS apple- appkit-824.48)
