Same error.

It is working when I remove .netrc
(file-remote-p "/ftp:mafreebox.freebox.fr:")
=> "/ftp:mafreebox.freebox.fr:"

Here the entry in .netrc:

machine mafreebox.freebox.fr login freebox password xxxxx
